Class Info
This is an introductory Mold Making class.
We are limited to making one one-part mold and one two-part mold.
If one of these does not turn out correctly (which does happen sometimes) we can discuss the possibility of remaking the mold and trying a different approach.
Reclaim clay and cone 6 porcelain casting slip will be provided to use with our molds.
Last Class and Pick Up
Pieces can be taken home during the last class.
If your work still needs to be fired after glazing on the last class, pick up can be scheduled during the open studio hours at these times:
Thursday June 1st 6pm-9pm
Saturday June 3rd 1pm-4pm
Thursday June 8th 6pm-9pm
Saturday June 10th 1pm-4pm
When working with plaster in the studio please cover the tables with newspaper and line buckets with plastic bags.
Wear something that you don't mind getting dirty and if you would like you can bring a respirator for use with plaster dust. We will all be wearing masks in the studio anyways but if you are sensitive to dust and want to bring your own, please do.
The last 30 minutes of class is thorough cleaning and mopping.
Members- if you would like to continue making molds once the class is
over you will need to supply your own materials.
